LR5 and VSCO Film

Saturday, January 4, 2014

After months of dreaming about Adobe Lightroom 5 and VSCO Film, I finally downloaded both products as a Christmas gift from my parents. For a while now, I have been using VSCO Cam   the iPhone app that lets you edit photos on your phone using VSCO presets   so moving up to VSCO Film for Lightroom is pretty exciting. Being able to achieve the realness of film with a DSLR is amazing, and VSCO Film accomplishes it perfectly. The look of film is unlike anything else: raw, grainy, and filled with warmth.

Below are a few images I edited using VSCO Film Pack 01 in Lightroom 5. What do you think of  the VSCO film look?

  1. good stuff! does the "+"s imply it imitates the effect of pushing the iso up a stop per "+" in post?

    1. Thank you! The "+" version makes for a more faded, color toned, grainy, and contrasted look to the original film. The double "+" is the same concept as the single "+" but just a bit more extreme. Hope that clears things up!
